Transportation registration for the 2024-2025 school year

  • Returning students who do not submit their form by the deadline: You will have to wait until Aug. 30 to submit your transportation request, with a turnaround time of 2-4 weeks.
  • New YES Prep families: You will follow a separate process supported by the Enrollment and Transportation team (currently ongoing through SchoolMint).

Permission slips for Senior Signing Day

At YES Prep, Senior Signing Day has been a sacred tradition where our Seniors declare what is next in their journey by sharing what college, university, Armed Forces branch, or post-secondary opportunity they will be pursuing after they graduate. Seniors have watched this tradition every year and have earned their moment in the spotlight!

We are thrilled to share that our Annual Senior Signing Day event is scheduled to occur on Tuesday,

May 21th, 2024. There will be a short presentation to share with students in the next few weeks and a more detailed presentation for staff about Senior Signing Day expectations and roles coming soon.

We are less than two months away from Senior Signing Day! We are excited to have our 8th to 12th-grade students join us on Tues., May 21, for this momentous occasion, but to attend they must have a signed permission slip. This SSD Permission Slip Guide for Families provides step-by-step instructions on how to complete permission slips in Skyward.

All permission slips are due on Friday, May 10, 11:59 p.m.

Attendance Update

Week of

April 15

It is imperative that students attend all school days. Each student's presence matters, not only for their academic progress but also for building connections and providing necessary support.

Students are marked absent for the day if they arrive at school after 10:00 AM. Daily student attendance is taken in all class periods.

Remember that students can enter the building as early as 8:00 AM and are considered tardy after 8:30 AM.

When your child is absent from school, your school’s front office will call home to find out why they missed school. When the student returns to school, they should turn in their excused note within 48 hours. The guardian can also complete an excuse note digitally in Skyward. The excuse note will then be added to the student’s file and your child must make up all missed assignments. Please note that if an excused absence is NOT turned in within 48 hours of the absence, the absence will remain unexcused.

What is an excused absence? An excused absence is when a student provides physical or electronic documentation (a note from parent/legal guardian) within 48 hours of the absence. The following are possible reasons a student may receive an excused absence: Illness, bereavement / funeral (immediate family), school-sanctioned activities, family emergency, medical related, religious observances (not church camp), short-term suspension or other disciplinary actions, protected under state or federal law.

What is an unexcused absence? Unexcused absences are when a child is absent without documentation signed by a guardian or doctor that meets the criteria for an excused absence.

If you have any questions regarding school attendance and policy, click here.

Please help our students get to school every day, on-time, so that we can do our part to prepare them for success!
