Texas College Bridge & TSIA2

Class of 2025 Families, as we approach your senior’s upcoming graduation, we want to share an important update on how they can demonstrate college readiness before they graduate.

Being college-ready is a key milestone, whether students plan to attend college this fall or want to leave the door open to enrolling in the future. At YES Prep, we are committed to ensuring that all members of the Class of 2025 have the opportunity to demonstrate their readiness to colleges before graduation. Meeting these requirements now helps students transition smoothly into higher education, unlocking more opportunities and reducing the need for developmental courses in college.

How Can Seniors Demonstrate College Readiness?

Some seniors may have already demonstrated college readiness through their SAT or TSIA2 scores earlier this year. For those who have not yet earned a college-ready score, there are still two final opportunities available before graduation:

1. Successfully Completing Texas College Bridge

Texas College Bridge is a self-paced, online program in English and/or Math that helps students strengthen their skills. Seniors who complete the program will earn a certificate of completion, which is accepted as proof of college readiness at over 100 Texas colleges and universities, including all local community colleges, and is accepted for 2 years after a student graduates from YES Prep.

· Seniors who have not yet met college-readiness benchmarks were enrolled in Texas College Bridge in February.

· The final deadline to complete Texas College Bridge is May 9, 2025, in alignment with senior final grades.

2. Earning a College-Ready Score on the TSIA2

The final TSIA2 testing opportunity for the Class of 2025 is on April 9. Achieving a college-ready score on the TSIA2 will demonstrate readiness at all Texas colleges, including major Houston institutions like the University of Houston and UH Downtown, and is accepted for 5 years from when the student takes the TSIA2.

· Students can also use the skills they have been developing in Texas College Bridge to help them succeed on the TSIA2 exam.

How You Can Support Your Senior?

  • Encourage them to stay on track with their Texas College Bridge coursework.
  • Remind them about the April 9 TSIA2 test and encourage them to get a good night's rest before the exam.
  • Check in on their progress and remind them to seek support from their Senior Seminar Teacher if they need help.

We are incredibly proud of our seniors’ hard work and dedication to their futures. Please help us encourage them to take full advantage of these opportunities! Thank you for your continued partnership in your student’s success.

Next meeting Wednesday 9AM virtual (Please refer to ParentSquare for the link) and on campus! See you there!
