23-23 Academic Calendar:

https://www.yesprep.org/families/district-calendar

All YES Prep campuses and our administrative office will be closed for Presidents’ Day on Monday, February 20. Classes will resume on Tuesday, February 21.

Cell Phone Policy

As a reminder, students must have their cell phones put away during the school day. Students are only allowed to use their phones at lunch and activity time. Students who are caught with a phone out will have their phone taken. A parent must come to the school to retrieve the phone and pay a $15 fine to get the phone back. If you have an emergency, we ask that you call the front office phone to speak with your child. Students who refuse to give a phone to campus staff will be asked to have a parent pick them up immediately.

Behavior Updates

We have seen an uptick in relational aggression in the form of verbal altercations and physical altercations as well as vaping. There are a few things you can do to help:

  1. Talk to your child about their day. If they mention bullying or anything similar, report this to the school immediately.
  2. Talk to your child about the dangers of drugs and vaping. Please report any incidents that you are aware of to the school.
  3. Talk to your child about recording others without their consent. This is against our code of conduct and any student caught filming an altercation will receive a consequence up to and including a suspension
  4. Ask your child to provide names of offenders to a trusted adult or even you and inform the school of any information you may have. We are partners together in keeping our school safe.

Dress Code Reminders

We have adopted a more relaxed dress code over the past two years. Even with this, there are still guidelines that students should follow. Below are a few of the common infractions. As a reminder, students who violate any dress code infraction may receive a call home to provide a change of clothes and/or a detention.

  1. Pants should be worn at the waist at all times.
  2. Yoga pants, sweatpants, athletic gear and crop tops are not permitted and will result in an auto detention.
  3. Tops and bottoms must touch- even when the hands are lifted.
