Clubs & Organizations

All students are invited and encouraged to take part in campus clubs and organizations. Below is a list of the clubs and organizations offered at YES Prep Southeast

Girl Scouts

Jessica Walcik, Crystal Lucatero & Tameike Washington

When: Tuesdays 4:10 PM- 5:30 PM

Where: Room 208

To Who: Girls

Purpose: To build girls of courage, confidence and character to make the world a better place


SE Steppers

Adeola Adebeyi, Hendrix King, Gabriel Egbuna & Candace Daniel

When: Wednesday 2:00 PM- 3:30 PM

              Friday 4:10 PM- 5:30 PM

Where: Room 231/202

To Who: Auditions, rising 7th graders and up

Purpose: The step team was founded to expose students to a different, rhythmic type of dance in the form of stepping.


Black Student Union

Tameike Washington

When: Mondays 4:30 PM- 5:30 PM

Where: Room 126

To Who: Anyone can Join

Purpose: To educate the students of SE about black culture and provide a safe space for our students who identify as black.



Jessica Walcik

Where: Room 101

To Who: All grades welcome

Purpose: At Robotics Club, students build, control and maintain our robots, in efforts to perform certain tasks. Throughout the year, students will have the opportunity to attend Saturday competitions with other YES campuses. At Robotics Club, there will also be other STEM activities to participate in when it is not your turn to build or drive the robots.


Student Ambassadors

Jennifer Burch & Michelle Covarrubias

When: Last Friday of every month : Coordinators

              First Friday of every month: All Ambassadors

Where: Room 214

To Who: You must apply and be invited to the interview round based on your application and 15 total ambassadors are chosen from Rising Junior and Seniors applicants; Must have a 3.0 GPA

Purpose: Southeast Ambassadors strive to be a positive reflection of Wizard culture, academic integrity and leadership potential to all internal and external visitors to campus.


YES Prep Chess Club

Michael Buck

When: Tuesday & Thursday 4:00 PM-5:30 PM

Where: Room. 240

To Who: 6th- 12th Grade, No Auditions

Purpose: The purpose of the YES Prep Chess Club is to provide an opportunity to build critical thinking skills and become great chess players. Our goal for the 19-20 school year is to go to place at the state tournament.


Fashion Design Club

To Who: All High School Students

Purpose: The purpose of the Fashion Design club is to explore your creativity and expand on your idea of a potential career in fashion.
